NGC 7619 and NGC 7626 are the two dominant elliptical galaxy members of the
Pegasus I galaxy group. The Pegasus I cluster contains perhaps 13 galaxies
at a distance of 150 Mio light-years.
This galaxy group is embedded in clouds of galactic cirrus. These clouds, which are better visible in the stretched luminance image, are part of our own Milky Way and hang only hundreds of light-years above our galactic plane, dimly reflecting starlight. |
