Notes: | Sharpless 87 is a complex star-forming region at a distance of 7,500 light years. The image shows two bright and compact nebulae inside Sh2-87. Chen et al. (2003) found two NIR clusters (S87E and S87W) in the centre of these nebulae. It is assumed that S87E was formed by a cloud-cloud collision. | ||
