Berkeley 15 is an open star cluster in the constellation Auriga, about
11,000 light years distant. This open cluster is strongly reddened by
interstellar dust: E(B-V) = 0.88mag. The faint reflection nebula vdB 32 and many dark nebulae are also visible in the above image. The bright rays in the top left corner are caused by Capella, the brightest star in constellation Auriga. |
