Notes: | The interacting galaxy pair NGC 2444 / NGC 2445 in the constellation Lynx is listed in Arp's Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies as number 143. NGC 2445 was referred to as "the blue nest" by Vorontsov-Velaminov (1959). It has a highly disturbed aspect with many optical knots surrounding the nucleus. The knots are very blue and associated with HII regions and are probably young star clusters. | |
